Baird Dbees vs Now TV

9/12/2014

Baird Dbees got to an early 3:0 lead against Now TV with goals from Ho Chung (2) and Nicholas Winchester.  Ho Chung's two goals were the result of staying with the play and going hard to the net.  Nicholas's goal came from a blocked shot which led to a breakaway which he scored on.  After a careless defensive mistake that allowed Now TV to score, Nolan Winchester stripped a defenseman of the puck while shorthanded and roofed a wrist shot which made the score 4:1.  Now TV clawed back and after a judgement error from one of our centers who chose to break out up the slot but lost the puck, got Now TV to within 1.  Their fourth goal was the result of the referee blowing the play dead just as one of the Baird Dbees forwards was breaking in on goal, for a goal he believed was scored some 20 seconds earlier.  The game went into overtime at four aside but no goal, so a draw 4:4 was the result.

The Team is now headed to the Bell Capital Cup in Ottawa from December 29th to January 2nd.  Some of the core members were not available so a few former members will join the team for this great tournament.  The team will play up to 9 exhibition games in Toronto and Ottawa prior to the tournament and will participate in the Major Peewee A division.  Please follow the team's progress on www.bellcapitalcup.com.
