The DBees are a non-profit community based ice hockey team. We are committed to the development of youth ice hockey in Hong Kong.  Our members not only come from Discovery Bay but throughout Hong Kong and the program is available for all skill levels, ages 5 and up.

In the 2015-2016 season, we further expanded the program to include two hours of ice each Saturday so our players can get more ice time.  Players with advanced skills practice from 7:30 to 8:45 and our novice players start at 8:15 and finish at 9:30.   There is 30 minutes of shared ice.  The practices are at Elements Ice Rink in Kowloon.

Our practice sessions concentrate on skating leading to developing all aspects of the game under a well-organized training guided by Hockey Canada and International training formats.  Player development on and off the ice are a core part of the program.  Our aim is for the players to enjoy the game and feel good about their development.

For the last two seasons our PWE Baird Dbees team has made it into the finals of the Hong Kong City League, which is a great testament to the level of our coaching staff and players.   A fair number of our players also play for various teams in the Hong Kong City League.  In addition, numerous players have played for the Hong Kong Selects in international tournaments including a team that represented Hong Kong in the 2012-13 and 2014-15 Bell Capital Cup in Ottawa, coached by Stuart Winchester from the DBees.  Players have also participated in the Quebec Peewee International Tournament in 2014 and 2015.

At the end of the hockey season we typically enter teams into the Hong Kong 5’ s Tournament. This is an International Tournament held at Mega Ice with teams participating from all over Asia.  The tournament for the 2017 year will be held in the last week in April.  In addition, the Dbees and Typhoons are combining efforts to participate for the first time in the 2016-17 Kamloops International Bantam Tournament in British Columbia.
